Spend the first two nights in San Cristobal de las Casas, then head down to the Lacandon Forest for our next stop, a remarkable eco lodge situated on the banks of the Lacantun River where we will spend two nights. Be prepared to add new birds to your “Life List” at this beautiful location! You will have a chance to see and hear howler monkeys in the nearby trees and agoutis running about freely in the brush as well. The next day we’ll take an early boat ride along the river into the untouched Lacandon Jungle with our expert bird guides.

Afterward, we’ll drive to an eco lodge in the town of Frontera Corozal on the banks of the Usumacinta River (one of the largest rivers in Central America), marking the border between Mexico and Guatemala. The following morning, we’ll leave early on a boat ride with our guides to the remarkable Mayan site of Yaxchilan! This stunning site is brimming with lush jungle and plenty of wildlife. Our guides will inform you about this archeological site while identifying a large variety of tropical birds residing in and visiting this area. Our boat ride will offer us plenty of birding as well. After we return to our lodge, we'll have time to relax or keep birding, the next day our guides will take us to the magnificient archeological site of Bonampak famous for its finely preserved Mayan murals. We’ll spend time learning about this site from our expert guides.

Next we’ll drive to our hotel in Palenque! You’ll be in for a treat at this elegant comfortable hotel. We’ll have time to relax, swim, or bird watch at this gorgeous place surrounded by lush jungle. A private tour of the site will be led by our guide! Next day have a relaxing morning at the pristine waterfalls of Roberto Barrios, a series of waterfalls of turquoise waters seldom visited by travelers and abundant in natural beauty and peace!
