Join Travelian Tours for an extraordinary cultural shopping journey to Jalisco. Travel in comfort and safety on this rich excursion with a small group of travelers and our expert guides!

On our first day of travel the group will be driven to the charming town of San Jose Tlaquepaque, one of Mexico’s preeminent centers for decorative arts and crafts. A relaxing lunch at one of Tlaquepaque’s fine restaurants will await travelers. After checking into our new small hotel in the middle of the Shopping District, travelers will have time to explore its plethora of shops and two outstanding museums featuring ceramic art from the region.

For the second day of travel, the group will head south toward Lake Chapala and the small lakeside village of Ajijic, where we’ll stay in comfort at a charming hotel. Lunch will be reserved at one of Ajijic’s casual delicious restaurants. After lunch, we check into our hotel, and enjoy an afternoon exploring town. Ajijic is an expat community with many galleries, shops, good restaurants and its Malecon (lakeside walkway).

In addition to enjoying good food and shopping in Ajijic, our main goal is to visit the first-rate Annual Masters of Folk Art Fair at the Chapala Yacht Club nearby. The third day, after breakfast, travelers will be driven to the fair on Opening Day and will have time to visit all the featured artisans. Take in the festivities, and purchase the works of prize-winning master artisans from all over Mexico. The group will head back to Ajijic mid-afternoon allowing time to rest or have a cold drink at our hotel before dinner.

On our final day, after breakfast and checking out of the hotel, the group will head back to San Miguel de Allende.

Discover Jalisco’s delicious food, outstanding artisan works, and first-rate shopping in comfort and style on this tour with Travelian’s friendly professional guides!
